The foreigners from eligible countries/territories can apply for a multiple entry ETA with a 6-month stay in Canada.
Your Canada ETA will be valid for 5 years from the approval date.
If you are a citizen of Mexico or Brazil, you must be a permanent resident of the United States and travel to Canada by air to apply for a Canada ETA.
The Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is specifically for travellers arriving in Canada by air (plane) who are from countries that require an eTA for entry. For other entry methods, you need to get visitor at the Embassy.
Eligibility
International travelers whose objective is to visit as a tourist or visit family, transit through Canada by air, attend a meeting or conference, study, or work.
You will need at least a 6 months valid passport and your photo to apply for eTA Canada.
Non-Eligibility
If you lived in Canada many years ago (former residents of Canada), you may still retain your permanent resident (PR) status, please check your PR status with government.
If the applicant is a permanent resident of Canada, Canadian citizen/origin, they are not eligible for an eTA and must travel to Canada using a Canadian passport.
US green card holders do not need to apply for an ETA to enter Canada.
